Who is this service for?
Private and condo-based swim coaches who teach students individually or in small groups, and parents who are teaching their own child to swim without a formal coach — both looking for an independent readiness check before assessment.
I'm a parent, not a coach — can I still use this?
Yes. If you've been teaching your own child to swim, we'll assess them exactly the same way we would a coached student, give you an honest verdict, and handle the assessment registration on your behalf.
Can I skip the readiness check and just use the registration service?
Yes — if you're already confident your student or child is ready, Registration Only handles the assessment booking and paperwork without a readiness check first.
Do you replace the official SwimSafer assessment?
No — this is a pre-assessment readiness check and registration support service. The official SwimSafer assessment itself is still conducted through the official program.
What's the difference between the video and pool checks?
The video check is a faster, lower-cost first opinion based on footage you send us. The pool check has our assessor observe live, which usually gives a more thorough read on borderline skills like breathing timing or entries.
Where does the readiness check take place?
For the pool check, usually at the public pool. Subject to pool access and scheduling — we'll confirm logistics with you when you book. For the video check, wherever you're already filming.
What happens if a student or child isn't ready yet?
You'll get a written report listing exactly which skills need more work. There's no charge to re-check the same student or child once you've had time to practise the gaps.
Can I book this for a whole group at once?
Yes — for groups of 5 or more, get in touch for bundle pricing. It can often be batched into a single pool visit, and this also works well for a few self-teaching families booking together.
If I'm a coach, do parents need to be involved?
You can loop parents in as much or as little as you like — we're happy to communicate through you as the coach, or directly with parents if that's easier for your setup.
