The pool. Bukit Batok Swimming Complex, at 2 Bukit Batok Street 22, is within Bukit Gombak Sport Centre. Getting there. The complex is roughly a seven-minute walk from Bukit Batok MRT (NS2), and Bukit Gombak MRT (NS3) is also nearby, with several bus services stopping close by. For East side residents, this is about as convenient as swimming lessons get in Singapore, a short walk or a couple of MRT stops at most.
Weekly closure. ActiveSG lists the complex as closed every Wednesday for maintenance, so build your routine around that regardless of where in Bukit Batok you live.

If you live around Bukit Batok West Avenue, Toh Guan, or the newer developments closer to the Jurong East boundary, your calculation looks a little different.
Current travel to Bukit Batok Swimming Complex. It's still very doable, Bukit Batok and Bukit Gombak MRT stations are only one to two stops from Jurong East MRT on the North-South Line, so West side residents aren't cut off from the main complex. But depending on exactly which block you're in, the walk or bus ride to the pool itself will be noticeably longer than for East side residents.
Jurong East as an alternative. Because West side Bukit Batok sits so close to the Jurong East boundary, some families here find it genuinely more convenient to consider Jurong East Swimming Complex instead, particularly if their daily routine, school run or workplace already routes through Jurong East. I'd note, though, that Jurong East's competition pool has been undergoing renovation, with local guides reporting it's expected to remain closed until the end of 2026, though it does have kiddy pools and recreational water play areas in the meantime. If structured lessons and lane swimming are your priority right now, verify current status before assuming it's fully available.
The Jurong Region Line is coming. A new Bukit Batok West (JE3) MRT station, on the Jurong Region Line, is planned for the boundary of Bukit Batok and Jurong East, expected to open as part of the line's build-out. Once that opens, travel for West side families, both to Bukit Batok's own facilities and to pools further into Jurong, should become considerably easier. Until then, plan around today's bus and MRT options.
What this means for choosing a provider. West side families have a genuine choice to make: stick with Bukit Batok Swimming Complex, accepting a somewhat longer trip in exchange for its confirmed teaching pool, wading pool and established lesson infrastructure, or look toward Jurong East facilities, weighing that against the current pool renovation status. Neither choice is wrong. It depends on which specific block you're in and whether your family's other routines already take you toward Jurong East anyway.
