Ang Mo Kio, Teck Ghee & Bishan

Swimming Lessons at ActiveSG Sport Park @ Teck Ghee Swimming Complex

Formerly known as Ang Mo Kio Swimming Complex

Completely rebuilt and reopened in January 2026, this former neighbourhood pool has become a full multi-generational sport park — a 50m competition pool, a sheltered pool with a jacuzzi and sensory trail, a water playground, and Singapore's first calming pod at a sporting facility. Lessons here are conducted by freelance and affiliate coaches within the SG Sink or Swim network, operating independently of our directly-run locations.

Coaches We Know, Not Staff We Employ

Coaches teaching at Teck Ghee are part of our wider freelance and affiliate network — experienced instructors we've connected with, rather than SG Sink or Swim employees. They run their own lessons independently, with their own scheduling and pricing.

A Genuinely Inclusive New Facility

Rebuilt from the ground up with accessibility in mind, this is a practical, well-equipped pool for families across Ang Mo Kio, Teck Ghee and Bishan.

The Venue

About ActiveSG Sport Park @ Teck Ghee

Ang Mo Kio Swimming Complex first opened on 24 May 1982, known for its distinctive orange brick walls and tetrahedron roofs — a design that earned a nomination from the Singapore Institute of Architects in 1986 and was later documented by Docomomo, the international modern architecture conservation body, though it was never formally conserved.

In October 2023 the pool closed for a complete redevelopment. Rather than a simple renovation, the site was transformed from a single-use swimming pool into a full multi-sport neighbourhood hub. The rebuilt facility reopened on 25 January 2026 as ActiveSG Sport Park @ Teck Ghee, officially opened by Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

The new facility has a 50-metre competition pool, a sheltered multi-generational pool designed in collaboration with the Singapore University of Social Sciences — featuring a jacuzzi, a sensory trail and a wheelchair-accessible ramp — plus a water playground with slides, and Singapore's first calming pod at a sporting facility, a quiet space designed for individuals with special needs. An inclusive gym with HUR pneumatic machines overlooks the pool. The complex is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 6.30am to 9.30pm, and 8am to 9.30pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, closing all day on Wednesdays for maintenance.

Please Note:

Lessons at ActiveSG Sport Park @ Teck Ghee Swimming Complex are conducted by freelance and affiliate coaches within the SG Sink or Swim network, not by SG Sink or Swim directly. Scheduling, pricing, and how each coach runs their lessons is set independently — we're happy to help connect you with a coach here, but please confirm the details directly with them before booking.

Why This Pool Works for the Neighbourhood

What makes this specific complex a solid option for families nearby.

Genuinely Inclusive Design

The wheelchair-accessible ramp, sensory trail and calming pod mean the space is thoughtfully built for a wide range of learners, not just an afterthought.

Freshly Rebuilt Facility

Fully reopened in January 2026 after a complete redevelopment, so lessons here happen in a genuinely new, well-maintained space rather than an ageing pool.

SwimSafer-Aligned Coaching

Coaches teaching here generally structure lessons around the national SwimSafer syllabus — confirm the specific approach with whoever you're matched with.

A Fun Reward Built In

After a lesson, families often head to the water playground with its slides — a genuine treat that makes swim day something kids look forward to.
