Swimming Lessons at Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex

Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex sits immediately next to Yio Chu Kang MRT station, making it arguably one of the most convenient public pools to reach in Singapore — you can be at the entrance just steps after leaving the train. Opened in 1986 as part of the Yio Chu Kang Sport Centre, it's a classic three-pool setup — competition, teaching and wading — set among mature palm trees that give the whole complex a spacious, holiday-like feel rather than a crowded town pool. Lessons here are conducted by freelance and affiliate coaches within the SG Sink or Swim network, operating independently of our directly-run locations.

Coaches We Know, Not Staff We Employ

Coaches teaching at Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex are part of our wider freelance and affiliate network — experienced instructors we've connected with, rather than SG Sink or Swim employees. They run their own lessons independently, with their own scheduling and pricing.

About as Convenient as It Gets

Sitting immediately beside Yio Chu Kang MRT station, this is genuinely one of the easiest public pools to reach in Singapore — no bus ride or long walk required.

The Venue

About Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex

Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex opened in 1986 as part of the Yio Chu Kang Sport Centre, and has become known as one of the more convenient public pools in Singapore thanks to its location immediately beside Yio Chu Kang MRT station — you can reach the entrance just steps after leaving the train.

The complex is a standard ActiveSG "Normal Pool," with a competition pool, a teaching pool and a wading pool for younger children — no water slides or lazy river, just a calm, spacious environment set among mature palm trees, giving it a more holiday-like feel than the busier water parks found in other towns. Weekday mornings tend to be especially quiet.

The complex is open every day except Thursday, from 8am to 9.30pm, with early access to the competition pool on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6.30am. It's closed all day on Thursdays for maintenance, unless Thursday falls on a public holiday, in which case normal hours apply.

Please Note:

Lessons at Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex are conducted by freelance and affiliate coaches within the SG Sink or Swim network, not by SG Sink or Swim directly. Scheduling, pricing, and how each coach runs their lessons is set independently. We're happy to help connect you with a coach here, but please confirm the details directly with them before booking.
