Serving Sengkang & the Northeast

Swimming Lessons at Sengkang Swimming Complex

Opened in 2008 beside the Punggol River — Singapore's first community centre co-located with a sports complex next to a river — this complex got five brand-new water slides in June 2025. Behind the colourful slides is a sheltered, indoor 25m teaching pool, separate from the outdoor competition pool and the crowds. Lessons here are conducted by freelance and affiliate coaches within the SG Sink or Swim network, operating independently of our directly-run locations

Coaches We Know, Not Staff We Employ

Coaches teaching at Sengkang are part of our wider freelance and affiliate network — experienced instructors we've connected with, rather than SG Sink or Swim employees. They run their own lessons independently, with their own scheduling and pricing.

A Sheltered Space Away From the Slides

The indoor teaching pool sits apart from the busy outdoor slides and competition pool — a practical, calmer option for families across Sengkang and the northeast.

The Venue

About Sengkang Swimming Complex

Sengkang Swimming Complex opened on 1 August 2008, built at a cost of S$48.7 million and designed by LT&T Architects. It sits beside the Sungei Punggol (Punggol River), and was the first community centre in Singapore to be co-located with a sports complex next to a river. The adjacent hockey stadium was used as a competition venue during the 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games.

In June 2025, five new water slides were installed as part of a renovation, replacing the old slide structures — Sugar Rush (roughly 80m, the longest, an open gentle tube), Rainbow Dash (a four-lane racing slide), Cotton Candy Bowl (an enclosed pink-striped tube over 60m), Jelly Lime Loops (an enclosed twisting tube) and Jellybean Swizzle (a bowl-and-funnel slide with a swirl and plunge). Minimum height requirements are 1.2m for two of the slides and 1.3m for the other three. From 1 July 2025, the complex was reclassified as a Feature Pool with updated entry fees to reflect these new attractions.

Away from the slides is an 8-lane, 2.1-metre-deep outdoor competition pool with temperature control, plus a sheltered 25-metre indoor teaching pool — protected from sun and rain, and separate from the busier slide and playground areas, making it a genuinely calmer space for lessons. A water playground with a tipping bucket, a jacuzzi and a children's wading pool round out the facilities. The complex is open Tuesday to Friday from 6.30am to 9.30pm, and 8am to 9.30pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, closing all day on Mondays for maintenance.

Please Note:

Lessons at Sengkang Swimming Complex are conducted by freelance and affiliate coaches within the SG Sink or Swim network, not by SG Sink or Swim directly. Scheduling, pricing, and how each coach runs their lessons is set independently — we're happy to help connect you with a coach here, but please confirm the details directly with them before booking.
