Swimming Lessons at Jurong West Swimming Complex
Singapore's first swimming complex to feature a sheltered Olympic-sized competition pool, Jurong West Swimming Complex has been a fixture of the west side since it opened in November 2006. Alongside the 50-metre sheltered pool sits an outdoor training pool, a lazy river, jacuzzi, water slide and kiddy pool — one of the most fully-equipped public pools in Singapore, just steps from Pioneer MRT. Lessons here are conducted by freelance and affiliate coaches within the SG Sink or Swim network, operating independently of our directly-run locations.
Coaches We Know, Not Staff We Employ
Coaches teaching at Jurong West Swimming Complex are part of our wider freelance and affiliate network — experienced instructors we've connected with, rather than SG Sink or Swim employees. They run their own lessons independently, with their own scheduling and pricing.
Lessons That Don't Get Rained Out
Jurong West is home to Singapore's first sheltered Olympic-sized pool. If your coach teaches in the covered competition pool, a sudden shower won't cut the lesson short the way it can at an open-air venue.

About Jurong West Swimming Complex
Jurong West Swimming Complex opened on 10 November 2006 as part of the Jurong West Sports and Recreation Centre, and introduced something no public pool in Singapore had offered before: a fully sheltered, Olympic-sized 50-metre competition pool with 8 lanes, seating 465 spectators. Regulars sometimes still call it simply "the Aquatic Centre." Being under cover, this pool allows lap swimming and training to continue through rain that would pause an open-air pool.
Beyond the sheltered pool, the complex has an outdoor 50-metre training pool, a jacuzzi, a lazy river, a water slide and a kiddy pool with a water playground — classified by ActiveSG as a "Feature Pool," the same tier as Jurong East and Choa Chu Kang. Pool depths range from around 0.9m in the training areas up to 1.8m in the sheltered competition pool. The wider sports centre also includes a gym, sports hall, tennis centre and stadium, with food and beverage outlets and ample sheltered parking on site.
The complex is open every day except Tuesday, from 8am to 9.30pm, with early access to the sheltered competition pool on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6.30am. It's closed all day on Tuesdays for maintenance, unless Tuesday falls on a public holiday, in which case normal hours apply. The uncovered areas — the training pool, lazy river and kiddy pool — may still pause temporarily during lightning, as a standard outdoor safety precaution.
Please Note:
Lessons at Jurong West Swimming Complex are conducted by freelance and affiliate coaches within the SG Sink or Swim network, not by SG Sink or Swim directly. Scheduling, pricing, and how each coach runs their lessons — including which pool they teach in — is set independently. We're happy to help connect you with a coach here, but please confirm the details directly with them before booking.
