Swimming Lessons at Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex
Home to Singapore's public wave pool, water slides and a jacuzzi — but tucked away from all that is a sheltered, purpose-built teaching pool where our lessons actually happen. Freshly renovated in 2023, this complex gives us a covered space that's rain-proof and calm, right in the middle of Choa Chu Kang. We run kids' and adult classes here every week, from a first nervous float to full SwimSafer certification.
The Same Coach, Every Lesson
Your child (or you) will train with the same coach every week at Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex, not a rotating roster of whoever's free. That continuity means real progress tracking — your coach knows exactly which skills are solid and which still need work, week to week.
Free Makeup Classes, Always
Missed a session because of school, work, or just a rough week? Just let your coach know — we'll find a free makeup slot, no forms and no penalty fees. One less thing to juggle in an already busy week.

About Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex
Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex opened in 2001 and immediately stood out as the first — and still only — public pool in Singapore with a wave pool, a design by architect Alex Ford that went on to win a Singapore Institute of Architects Merit Award. After nearly two decades of heavy use, the complex closed in April 2019 for a full renovation and reopened in 2023 with two new water slides, a refreshed lazy river, a jacuzzi, and a brand-new sheltered teaching pool.
That sheltered teaching pool is where our lessons take place — a covered, shallower pool separate from the wave pool crowds, which means no lesson gets rained out and beginners get calm, uncrowded water to learn in. ActiveSG classifies the complex as a "Feature Pool" (alongside spots like Jurong East and Sengkang), which comes with a modestly higher entry fee than a standard complex, reflecting the extra facilities on offer.
The complex is open daily from 8am to 9.30pm except Mondays, when it closes for full-day maintenance, with the competition pool opening early on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings from 6.30am for lap swimmers. It sits almost exactly between two MRT stations — Yew Tee and Choa Chu Kang — making it genuinely convenient whichever side of town you're coming from.

Why Families Choose Us Here
What makes lessons at this specific complex work well for the neighbourhood around it.
Sheltered From Sun and Light Rain
Our teaching pool is under cover, so direct sun and a light passing shower don't disrupt a lesson the way they would in a fully outdoor pool. Heavy rain or a lightning alert will still pause lessons as a safety precaution — same as at any pool — but we'll always offer a free makeup session if that happens.
Right Between Two MRT Lines
Sitting almost exactly between Yew Tee and Choa Chu Kang MRT stations, this complex is genuinely easy to reach whether you're coming from either town centre.
SwimSafer-Aligned From Day One
Classes are structured around the national SwimSafer syllabus from the very first lesson, so progress genuinely counts toward a recognised certificate — useful for the many schools that ask for it.
A Fun Reward Built In
After lessons in the calm teaching pool, families often stick around for the wave pool and slides — a genuine treat that makes swim day something kids look forward to, not dread.
