Serving Geylang, Aljunied and Paya Lebar

Swimming Lessons at Geylang East Swimming Complex

Open since August 1978, this is one of the older full-length outdoor pools still in regular use on the central-east side of the island — a quiet, distraction-free complex tucked just minutes from Paya Lebar Quarter. Lessons here are conducted by freelance and affiliate coaches within the SG Sink or Swim network, operating independently of our directly-run locations.

Coaches We Know, Not Staff We Employ

Coaches teaching at Geylang East are part of our wider freelance and affiliate network — experienced instructors we've connected with, rather than SG Sink or Swim employees. They run their own lessons independently, with their own scheduling and pricing.

A Quiet, Uncrowded Pool

Without slides or wave pools drawing crowds, this straightforward complex is a practical option for families across Geylang, Aljunied and Paya Lebar.

The Venue

About Geylang East Swimming Complex

Geylang East Swimming Complex opened in August 1978, built to serve the growing population across Aljunied, Geylang and Paya Lebar during a period of rapid public housing expansion. It sits on a compact site along Aljunied Avenue 1, and despite its age remains genuinely popular with lap swimmers, families and lesson groups throughout the week. A 2004 renovation upgraded the changing rooms, pool deck and filtration system, keeping the facility in solid working order without changing its essential character.

ActiveSG classifies the complex as a "Normal Pool" — a 50-metre, 8-lane outdoor competition pool, a shallower teaching pool, and a wading pool with a small water slide for young children. There are no wave pools or lazy rivers here; it's a calm, spacious environment built for a serious swim rather than a theme-park visit, which tends to suit structured lessons well. The complex is open daily from 8am to 9.30pm except Mondays, with the competition pool opening early on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings from 6.30am for lap swimmers.

Please Note:

Lessons at Geylang East Swimming Complex are conducted by freelance and affiliate coaches within the SG Sink or Swim network, not by SG Sink or Swim directly. Scheduling, pricing, and how each coach runs their lessons is set independently — we're happy to help connect you with a coach here, but please confirm the details directly with them before booking.
