Freelance & Affiliate Coach Network

Swimming Lessons at Bukit Canberra Swimming Complex

One of the newest ActiveSG complexes on the island, opened in October 2023 as part of Sembawang's Bukit Canberra integrated hub. Four pools in total — including a sheltered 25m pool — sitting alongside a hawker centre, polyclinic and Singapore's largest ActiveSG gym. Lessons here are conducted by freelance and affiliate coaches within the SG Sink or Swim network, operating independently of our directly-run locations.

Coaches We Know, Not Staff We Employ

Coaches teaching at Bukit Canberra are part of our wider freelance and affiliate network — experienced instructors we've connected with, rather than SG Sink or Swim employees. They run their own lessons independently, with their own scheduling and pricing.

Part of a Genuine Community Hub

With a hawker centre, gym and polyclinic in the same development, it's a practical, well-connected pool for families across Sembawang, Canberra and Admiralty.

The Venue

About Bukit Canberra Swimming Complex

Bukit Canberra Swimming Complex opened on 15 October 2023, part of a 12-hectare integrated hub that also includes a 44-stall hawker centre, a polyclinic, an indoor sports hall and Singapore's largest ActiveSG gym. It sits on land with real history — the site once held part of Chong Pang Village, and nearby stands the Old Admiralty House, a National Monument built in 1940 that housed the Commander of the former British Naval Base.

The complex has four pools: a 50-metre, 8-lane outdoor competition pool up to 1.8m deep; a 25-metre, 6-lane sheltered pool; an outdoor kids' fun pool with water play features; and a separate sheltered wading pool for toddlers. It's open daily from 8am to 9.30pm except Wednesdays, when it closes for full-day maintenance, with the competition pool opening early on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings from 6.30am for lap swimmers.

Please Note:

Lessons at Bukit Canberra Swimming Complex are conducted by freelance and affiliate coaches within the SG Sink or Swim network, not by SG Sink or Swim directly. Scheduling, pricing, and how each coach runs their lessons is set independently — we're happy to help connect you with a coach here, but please confirm the details directly with them before booking.

Why This Pool Works for the Neighbourhood

What makes this specific complex a solid option for families nearby.

A Sheltered Option on Site

The 25m sheltered pool gives coaches a covered space to teach in, which can help reduce weather-related disruption compared to a fully outdoor pool — though it's not a guarantee against all closures.

Part of a Genuine Community Hub

With a hawker centre, gym and polyclinic all in the same development, it's easy to combine a lesson with an errand, a meal, or family time nearby.

SwimSafer-Aligned Coaching

Coaches teaching here generally structure lessons around the national SwimSafer syllabus — confirm the specific approach with whoever you're matched with.

A Fun Reward Built In

After a lesson, families often head to the outdoor water play area with slides — a genuine treat that makes swim day something kids look forward to.
